Summer Camp
Below is an overview of the various fun and educational camps being offered at Eaton Academy this summer — 2011. Some of these sessions are presented by Eaton Academy staff; others are available through outside institutions. Please consult the specific camp flyers (available below) for more detailed information. Space will be limited for these camps. So, sign-up soon! Art & Science Camp
Learn exciting scientific concepts and use the knowledge, awareness, and observations as the basis to make creative pieces of artwork!
Championship Chess
This camp builds skills through exciting chess play. Led by coaches who apply techniques developed to train top players throughout the Atlanta Metro, this camp is appropriate for students ages 7 through 14. A free T-shirt is included in camp enrollment!
Drama Camp
This is a great camp for kids who are interested in learning about all aspects of the theatre – everything from acting and improvisation to how to use props and costume pieces! The main idea is to build self esteem and self worth by using acting skills, games (that professional actors use) and scene work. A skit or scene will be performed on the last day of camp. Above all, this camp will be lots of fun for everyone as the participants learn about the whole theatre experience!
Keyboarding Class
This summer camp class will help students develop speed and accuracy on keyboards using individual state-of-the-art keyboards.
Latin Dance
Have a wonderful and active summer by learning Latin dances. Start with the Meringue, Cha-Cha, Macarena and Mambo. Then graduate to Salsa and Tango!
Science/Craft Camps
Science Camp: Campers will have the opportunity to create several science-based projects while exploring scientific concepts. Projects include using a solar oven for baking s’mores, constructing a robot, conducting experiments with chemical reactions, and more! Best of all, campers keep their creations.
Craft Camp: Campers will utilize their creative abilities to create a scrapbook to capture summer memories. They will create greeting cards, make jewelry, decorate a birdhouse, and more! Campers keep all their creations.
Shenanigans
Improv is all about communication and connection. We act "in the moment" - no scripts or memorization. We engage our imagination to create our environment and allow a spontaneous story to emerge - a story that has never been told before and will never be told in quite the same way again.
